James Pangartica is a graphic designer and web developer. He is best known as the webmaster of Jamesland, a personal website that hosts original projects and an archive of online games.
Philosophy
On the About page of Jamesland, which was made to look like Wikipedia, James wrote a quote because he got tired with using third person writing style:
"Anything that isn't saved locally can disappear at any moment. In my spare time, I try to recover and preserve the things I remember from the good old days by getting them to work locally, and Jamesland is mostly a repository for sharing and better archiving them. Many of the games, videos, and other media here are things that either I or people I know experienced and have fond memories of. Then there are the titles I discover while searching for those old favorites. Every time I research a game and fill out the information for a page, I end up finding three or four more interesting titles that I want to add. It's basically a never-ending cycle right now, but I enjoy the challenge of getting some of the more complicated or broken media working again. There are non-intrusive ads on Jamesland to help offset hosting costs. I try to keep them as unobtrusive as possible because user experience matters to me. The goal isn't to make money. I'm mostly just trying to stop bleeding money. Of course, if it happens to cover a pack of mints once in a while, I won't complain."

Game development
James is the creator of several original games, including United States vs Canada, Jameaquarium, and James Fight. These works feature recurring characters such as Bo, Anqi, Harry, Jerry, and Mike (loser). His projects are characterized by a distinctive style that incorporates a mix of photographic elements, contextual humor, exaggerated audiovisual effects, and retro-inspired graphics.
Lost media recovery
James has also been involved in the restoration and preservation of obscure or non-functional web-based games and websites. One notable example is Mainsweeper (まいんスイーパー), which was previously available only as a non-functional file on the Internet Archive. The game relied on external image assets hosted on the now-defunct website chibitami.net, rendering it unplayable in its archived form.
To restore functionality, missing assets were reconstructed using available gameplay footage, and the original SWF file was modified to reference newly hosted resources. Following these modifications, the game was successfully restored and made fully playable.
Additional restoration efforts include the recovery of original image assets associated with Dead Karl (倒吊男), as well as the reconstruction of his offline website to host the materials. Other notable projects include the restoration of the Smoothie Operator website originally hosted by PBS Kids, promotional websites for the Keroro Gunso (ケロロ軍曹) Nintendo DS games, an earlier version of the Element Animation website along with its associated browser game, and Pyongyang Racer.
